2026 Studio Residencies

Call for applications

The McLoughlin Gardens is pleased to offer a number of subsidized studio residencies to visual artists, poets, and writers (or artists in any other media, for whom the space would be appropriate). The fee is $600 + GST per week. Artist collectives are welcome to apply. The fee for each additional person (up to a maximum of four in total) is $300 + GST.

Artist Collectives
Those applying as part of a collective should designate one member as the lead artist. The lead artist will submit the form and gather all the requested materials from their fellow artists, assembling the whole into one document.

After submitting the form below, please send one single document (in pdf format) with the following by February 15, 2026:

1) an artist statement
2) a current CV
3) samples of your work
visual artists: 5 - 10 slides/images of your current work in pdf format.
poets and writers: five - ten pages of your current project, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font.

The following dates are currently open for the 2026 residency season. Please list the top three weeks you would like to attend, in order of preference. Those applying to stay at the cottage at the end of the season should be comfortable using the wood heater in the living-room. This means chopping and bringing in firewood, to supplement the heat pump in the house.
