On Sunday, May 25, eight Merville gardens were open to visitors who had registered for our first garden tour. By all accounts it was a great success. Many thanks to board chair Eva-Marie Trebell for covering so many details and organizing a stellar group of volunteers, including some master gardeners who answered questions and gave pruning advice at McLoughlin Gardens. Likewise, many thanks indeed to the gardeners who welcomed visitors.
The frothy pink shrub in the background of this photo is tamarisk. According to Nature and Garden, Tamarisk is wind and salt resistant, but invasive in some regions.
